The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya has just published Gender & LGTBIQ + Content Guide. Resources: theoretical contents, a document aimed at secondary school teachers that collects essential concepts and learning resources to use in the classroom regarding social inequalities and gender and LGTBIQ+ stereotypes.
The publication has been coordinated by UOC researcher Daniel Aranda and is the result of the collaboration of the GenTIC team with the GAME research group in the ERASMUS+ project School Break. The guide includes diverse content sections created by GenTIC researchers which complement an escape room to use as an educational tool for high school students:
- Lídia Arroyo: Youth and ICT: Challenges from a gender perspective
- Natalia Garrido: Feminization of poverty and feminist economics
- Maria Rodó-Zárate: The intersectional perspective on social inequalities
- Milagros Sáinz: Gender stereotypes about people and professionals working in technological fields
The contents will be tested with 6th Grade students at an educational centre in Santa Coloma de Gramenet on May 2021. They are available open access here:
