Maria Rodó de Zárate has offered an invited lecture at Lunds University (Sweden) on the relationship between feminism and nationalism through an intersectional framework in the context of the Catalan pro-independence movement. The lecture has been held at the Department of Spanish Studies at Lunds University on 8 November, based on Maria Rodó de Zárate’s recent publication at the journal Politics & Gender: “Gender, Nation, and Situated Intersectionality: The Case of Catalan Pro-independence Feminism”.

The article focuses on the role of women and feminist activists in national construction and explores how situated intersectional frameworks may provide new insights into relations among axes of inequalities beyond the Anglocentric perspective.
