On Friday, 22 November, the Seminar on Intersectionality: Application to Research and Public Policies will take place, co-organized by GenTIC through the INSPIRE project and the UOC Equality Unit.
The event aims to deepen the understanding of intersectionality, discuss the concepts of diversity and inequality as multifactorial aspects, and introduce UOC’s research and teaching projects that incorporate an applied intersectional perspective. Additionally, we will learn how intersectionality is integrated into UOC’s new Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion plan.
When: 22 November 2024
Time: 9:15 h – 14:00 h
Venue: UOC’s Interdisciplinary R&I Hub (Rambla del Poblenou, 154 Barcelona) and online (part of the seminar).
Registration: Open and free registration here.
This seminar will feature experts in intersectionality theory and methodology, such as Maria Rodó de Zárate, a professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Rachel Palmén and Jörg Müller, senior researchers at GenTIC, will present the conceptualization of intersectionality in research and innovation proposed by the INSPIRE project. Aran Romero, a postdoctoral researcher at GenTIC and project manager of INSPIRE, will offer examples of intersectionality actions applied in a Spanish academic institution.
The program is structured into three thematic blocks:
Block 1: Introduction to the concept of intersectionality
Block 2: Research with an intersectional perspective
Block 3: Organizational implications of intersectionality
