Rachel Palmén, a senior researcher at GenTIC, has been invited to give a key note speech at the Seminar “From gender studies to the study on gender in higher education in Portugal: balances, challenges and good practices”, organized by the ENGENDER Project in collaboration with the Portuguese Women’s Studies Association (APEM).

The event will be held on the 3rd of February, 2023 at the University of Coimbra to discuss the role of women’s, gender, and feminist studies in the various disciplinary fields of higher education in Portugal. Rachel Palmén’s communication will address the role of institutions and policies in the integration of the gender dimension in teaching in higher education curricula and will be followed by a panel discussion about the results of the ENGENDER Project regarding the gender approach in curricula and pedagogical practices in Portugal.

Seminar discussions will involve the participation of faculty and researchers engaged in the development of postgraduate courses in the field of women’s, gender, and feminist studies and other areas of knowledge, with experience in gender mainstreaming in pedagogical and research practices. Besides Rachel Palmén’s invited communication, the programme includes a communication by Mai Skovgaard, an expert in gender and higher education from the International Network for Advancing Science and Policy (INASP).
