Natalia Garrido, researcher at GenTIC and member of the Commission of Feminist Economies of the Solidarity Economy Network of Catalunya (XES), has participated in the workshop: “Feminist Economies in the classroom: Transforming the School to put Life at the Center”, organised by Edualter.

The event was held on February 28-29 at Espai Francesca Bonnemaison in Barcelona, to share a critical reflection on the current economic system and discuss how to incorporate the perspective of Feminist Economics in education. Natalia Garrido intervened in a round table together with Adriana Guzmán Arroyo, member of the Antipatriarchal Collective of Community Feminism (Bolivia), and Blanca Bayas, member of the Observatory of Debt in Globalization. In the debate, speakers pointed at the links between local contexts and global issues and discussed the educational and transformative potential of thinking about the economic system with a feminist perspective.

To conclude the two-day workshop, participants shared experiences and educational resources and explored action proposals with teachers and families representatives such as Cecilia Bayo (Vers les Escoles Feministes), Pedro Gozalbo (Association of business and economics teachers) and Belén Tascón (FAPAC).
