Since its start four years ago, the INSPIRE project has worked to establish the European Center of Excellence European centre of excellence on inclusive gender equality in research and innovation. The project is ending at a critical time, when debates on the future of European research and society’s demands for equality and inclusion are intensifying, while backlash against these principles is growing.

The INSPIRE Second Conference is taking place in Brussels to create a space of gathering and dialogue between researchers, policymakers, equality practitioners, and other key stakeholders on how to address present and future challenges in achieving effective and sustainable equality and inclusion in the European Research Area and wider society.

When: 16 and 17 April 2026

Where: Townhall Europe, Square de Meeûs 5-6, 1000 Brussels, Belgium, and online.
