Founded in 2006, the GenTIC group has spent two decades researching gender dynamics and their influence on the development and use of scientific and technological innovations, particularly in the fields of information and communication technologies (ICT) and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Our research covers a range of areas, including adolescents’ and young people’s motivations to pursue scientific and technological disciplines; the construction of gender roles; the design and evaluation of equality, diversity and inclusion policies in research and innovation systems; digitalisation from a gender perspective; and feminist research methodologies. More recent research lines include the study of well-being and care through an intersectional feminist lens, decolonial approaches to European gender policies, and strategies for organizational change to tackle discrimination.
In this annual gathering, the GenTIC team and invited research collaborators will explore how to challenge persistent stereotypes and power dynamics to promote inclusive gender equity, care, and well-being across education, the science and innovation system, and other spheres of the digital society across the life course. We will also share methodological approaches to putting intersectionality into practice to end current inequalities.
