The Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) organised on 4th of October 2019 the first workshop to incorporate the gender perspective in health. The event offered communications on data regarding existing biases in the diagnostic and treatment of diseases in women and men, and practical experiences that highlight the relevance to consider the gender dimension in the whole medical field.
The program included presentations by: Josep Maria Argimon (Managing Director of the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS)), Laura Pelay (Secretary-General of the Catalan Department of Health), Jörg Müller (senior researcher at GenTIC), Karolina Kublickiene (Associate Professor and director of a doctoral programme at Karolinska Institutet), María Teresa Ruiz Cantero (Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Universitat d’Alacant), Antònia Sambola (HUVH Cardiology Service), Anna Berenguera (IDIAP Scientific Area Jordi Gol), and Caridad Pontes (Pharmacotherapeutic Harmonization Manager of the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut)).
