The Gender Equality Audit and Monitoring (GEAM) tool is an online free platform for carrying out survey-based gender equality audits in academic organizations. It has been created in the context of the ACT project, a Horizon 2020 funded initiative coordinated by Jörg Müller, and was developed by a team of researchers from Advance HE, GenTIC at UOC and Notus in collaboration with the ACT Consortium partners.
The GEAM tool includes a flexible questionnaire framework based upon the Athena Survey of Science, Engineering and Technology (ASSET) and on existing measurement scales in the scientific literature. It comprises a collection of questions that cover most aspects of gender equality in academic organizations, providing high-quality data for designing and implementing gender equality measures and assessing their impact over time. The GEAM questionnaire is available in several languages, including English, Spanish, German, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Lithuanian, Italian, Greek, Czech, Slovenian, or Ukrainian.
The tool is implemented using the open-source survey platform LimeSurvey Community Edition. A reporting template will automatically generate a Word (docx) report with descriptive statistics (frequency tables and illustrations).
