Javier Quirós Gómez

I am a biologist and economist with a master’s degree in Human Resources Management, currently a PhD student in the Doctoral Programme in Society, Technology and Culture at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), under the supervision of Rachel Palmén at the Gender and ICT Research Group (GenTIC).

My doctoral research explores LGTBIQ+ inclusion policies in Catalan universities, examining how institutional measures in higher education promote equality, diversity, and inclusion. This study aims to analyse the impact of these policies on the academic and scientific environments, with a focus on visibility, well-being, and representation of sexual and gender diversity within university contexts.

Professionally, I work in an Employee Resource Group (ERG) supporting the LGTBIQ+ collective within a multinational technology company, where I contribute to initiatives fostering inclusive workplaces and organisational change. My main research interests include gender and diversity policies, inclusive leadership, and equality frameworks in higher education and corporate environments.
