In growing acknowledgement of the multiple inequalities in research and innovation organisations, Gender Equality Plans in Europe have become intersectional, and the European Commission is funding projects to implement more Inclusive Gender Equality Plans. There is, however, very little consensus on what an “inclusive gender equality” plan is and how to take and intersectional approach to gender equality in this context.

To explore how inclusion can be understood and to discuss how to conceive, design and implement a truly inclusive gender equality plan in research organisations and higher education institutions, the INSPIRE project is organizing its upcoming international conference under the theme “Inclusive Gender Equality in Research & Innovation: Creating Knowledge for Systemic and Sustainable Structural Change”. The event will be held in Budapest on 5 October 2023 and will start a dialogue with potential members of the INSPIRE Communities of Practice network that will work together to advance institutional change towards gender equality with an intersectional perspective as well as fostering inclusive gendered innovations.

When: Thursday, October 5th, 2023, 9.00 – 17.30 CET
Venue: Budapest, Hungary
