Scientix, PERFORM and GEDII co-organize the 12^th Scientix Projects’ Networking Event, which will be held in Brussels on 5 December 2017.

This event will explore innovative ways to address gender aspects in science education and, specifically, will reflect upon the role of arts-based approaches for combating gender bias and stereotypes within science in educational and team-collaborative settings.

Gender continues to play an important role in science education. It conditions study choices as well as shaping beliefs about one’s own capacities and those of others. Performing arts-based initiatives are on the forefront of innovative science education approaches, and have participatory, dialogic and dialectic qualities to engage students in democratic and inclusive ways of learning. The 12^th Scientix Projects’ Networking Event will bring together around 25 participants, including experts and projects working on the topic, as well as researchers, teachers, policy makers, SME and other interested education practicioners.
