The GenPort project was present last week in the “Opening Science to Society” event organized by SIS.net – the international network of National Contact Points (NCPs) for Science with and for Society in Horizon 2020 -, and the Swedish Advocacy Platform for Science with and for Society.

Lidia Arroyo, member of Gender and ICT, participated in the evening reception of the meeting, held in Brussels on 15 November 2016, and presented the research contents and practical resources on gender, science, technology and innovation that GenPort offers to a wide range of researchers, policy makers and stakeholders. The Gender Portal was showcased as an example of on-going international projects providing gender and science resources, together with other initiatives within topics such as Citizen Science, Public Engagement, Science Education, and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI).

The “Opening Science to Society” event was targeted at policy makers and stakeholders of Science with and for Society (SwafS), with the aim to provide input on the development of the SwafS-programme and the way towards the next framework programme, beyond Horizon 2020. It also provided networking opportunities amont SwafS stakeholders, Horizon 2020 national contact points, national representatives and members of the European Parliament.
