Femtech – technology designed to support women’s health – offers opportunities to enhance user autonomy but raises critical questions around data privacy, reproductive surveillance, and the need for robust regulation. Luana Mathias Souto, a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at GenTIC and lead researcher of the project “Reproductive Health under Algorithm Surveillance” (THELMA), will reflect on the regulatory implications of Femtech regarding the use of fertility data and its impacts on women’s rights in the next HELT talk hosted by the Health & Ageing Law Lab (HALL), a part of the Law, Science, Technology & Society (LSTS) research group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

When: Friday, 30th May 2025

Time: 13:00 – 15:00 h

Where: In-person in the Green Room, U-Residence VUB (Etterbeek Campus) in Brussels.
