Strengthening the evidence base for intersectional social justice: approaches for quantitative data monitoring and analysis
The Intersectional Social Justice Seminar Series aims to present promising approaches to the intersectional analysis of quantitative data. Qualitative research has been at the forefront of demonstrating how the simultaneous interactions of multiple identities shape complex social inequalities. The aim of these seminar sessions is to facilitate a better understanding of the contemporary possibilities of intersectional analysis of quantitative data, which includes the ability to engage in ‘matrix thinking’ to identify complex patterns of inclusion and exclusion, as it is essential to avoid reducing intersectionality to a mere collection of demographic factors, a descriptive tool, or a mechanism for promoting diversity.
